Both buildings are served by security personnel and desk/valet personnel. In addition, the Gate House serves as the initial point of security for the whole Arlen Complex. No one is admitted into the Arlen Complex unless they are authorized by residents or the office.

Haulover Park contains one of south Florida's most beautiful beaches, a mile and a half stretch that draws people from all walks of life, from other states, Canada and a variety of other countries. Nestled between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, it has pristine white sand shores, open ocean surf, various shaded picnic facilities, beautifully landscaped sand dunes, and concession stands. The beach is ideal for surfing as well as swimming. Haulover Beach is approximately an 8 minute walk from Arlen House.
The entire beach is guarded by well trained lifeguards, who will inform beach patrons of existing weather and surf conditions. Across the street from the beach, Haulover Park has a full-service marina, restaurant, tennis courts, family 9-hole golf course, sundries shop and kite shops.

Haulover Golf Course is located on the north end of Miami Beach, right on the Bay. This 9-hole, 810-yard, par-27 course is ideal for the player who wants to sharpen his/her short game or for the family on a casual outing. The longest hole is 125 yards long. Beginners and experienced golfers are welcome. Prices are the lowest you'll find, and rentals are available.
Haulover Golf Course is a part of Haulover Park where you can also enjoy swimming at Haulover Beach, boating at Haulover Marina, picnicking in the Park, or a game of tennis at the Tennis Court. Afterwards, patrons can relax and enjoy the Bay breeze at the Afterdeck Restaurant which is adjacent to the marina and golf course.

Nestled in Haulover Beach Park between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, this marina is minutes away from spectacular fishing. It is the home of the largest charter/drift fishing fleet in South Florida. The 180-acre park also has two on-site restaurants; an ice cream shop, souvenir shop, bicycle rentals, picnic pavilions; kite rental concession; casual 9-hole golf course and tennis courts. An underground path leads to sparkling Haulover Beach. The Marina is approximately a 15 minute walk from Arlen House.
Approach from Sea: Located on the east side of the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway) at St. Mile 1079. From the north, leave ICW Marker "5" to port and you will see the marina on your port side. Stay close to the shore and docks as you approach the marina since there is a sandbar between the ICW and the Haulover Inlet Channel.

Oleta State Park 3400 NE 163rd Street, off I-95 in North Miami.
Florida's largest urban park, Oleta State Park is located on Biscayne Bay in the busy Miami metropolitan area approximately 1 mile from Arlen House. Although it offers a variety of recreational opportunities, the park is best known for miles of off-road bicycling trails, ranging from novice trails to challenging trails for experienced bicyclists.
Along the Oleta River, at the north end of the park, a large stand of beautiful mangrove forest preserves native South Florida plants and wildlife. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle the river to explore this amazing natural area. Swimming from a 1,200-foot sandy beach and saltwater fishing are also popular activities. Picnic tables and grills are available. Nine pavilions can be rented for a fee. All have water, and the largest one has electricity. Visitors can rent kayaks, canoes, and bicycles. The park has a loaner system for bicycle helmets. For overnight visits, the park has rustic, air-conditioned cabins and a youth campground for organized groups.

The 350 building (located between Arlen House and Arlen House West contains a restaurant open to the public, and an auditorium available for rent by our residents. The power house, air conditioning chillers, and boilers which serve both building are also located here.
